OlivosARTstudio Summer Camp 2012
OlivosARTstudio offers a unique ART experience!
Since 2004 we‘ve been offering a chance for children to experience real arts programming. Parents and teachers unequivocally report that OlivosARTstudio is the place to come to for exciting projects and the development of our young artists creativity.
As artists who love working with children, we deeply enjoy sharing our time during Spring and Summer with the families that join us. It is highly rewarding to hear time and time again about the impact our work has made on the hundreds of families who have crossed our threshold since 2004. We hear many families report that our program helps
enrich and change their children's lives- they feel encouraged, triumphant, challenged and moved by the experience of art-making with us! We are humbled and thrilled to know this, which is why we continue to lay aside our own art work a few times a year to share our artistic vision with the children.
Word is getting around (thank you!) that we offer a brilliant and exhilarating arts program for children 6-13. No experience or "talent" is necessary...: children who love creating and exploring are in their element here. Every moment of our day is an adventure: whether it’s making art, visiting galleries, learning about different art movements or artists, thinking about how art influences our world, finding the "art" all around us and in everything we do!
Claudia has over 15 years teaching experience in various venues to include but not limited to: Hirshhorn Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Key elementary after school ART enrichment program, Rapphanock Alternative School, The Art League (Torpedo Factory) in Alexandria (10 yrs), and is currently adjunct professor at The Art Institute of Washington.
Sergio has over 10 years teaching experience to include Art Professor at the Universidad de Queretaro in Mexico, The Art League in Alexandria (Torpedo Factory), Arlington Center for the Arts, and is currently employed in Arlington County public schools. Sergio holds an Art teacher's certification with the State of Virginia.
Both are practicing and exhibiting artists who love to teach!
We give each student individual attention! Our workshops/classes and camps are semi-private- no huge classes or camps led by high school/college students: Sergio & Claudia personally teach all classes
We focus on the Fine Arts.
All materials utilized are of professional grade and non toxic.
We visit a museum on Tuesday, which will set the theme for the week-either focused on an art movement, exhibit theme, or particular artist.
On Friday participants host a "mini opening" for family members to showcase their masterpieces.
Please note: You provide lunch *and *snacks for your child.
Children spend time outdoors each day, we go for walks, have use of the pool, eat lunch outdoors and otherwise enjoy a fun and educational week ...we know your young artists learn and enjoy with us...and we look forward to sharing with them our love for art, nature...life!
Whether your children have never joined us before-or if you are a returning camper:
